The Bella Diaries of a crafty artist

After 45 minutes I finally arrive at Michael's, a huge craft store full of anything you could want. When I went in the store , to my surprise they had remodeled and moved everything around. Now what was supposed to be my in and out trip was going to take awhile , nothing was the same in there. By this time my eyes are glazed over by all the crafty goodness! I think I must have had glitter on my mind because everything I bought was glittery in some way, aqua glittered letters, 3 jars of glittered flowers in pale pink, white and copper. I couldn't decide on a color so I got all of them I liked. A bunch of glittery papers in different styles and I finally bought myself a new hot glue gun, if you seen the one I was using you'd probably laugh, it had so much glue all over it you could hardly see the glue gun and it was always dripping glue . I used it for the first time last night and it was nice, I made this...

I found this sweet little stationery box that was shaped like a book and the inside was hallow, so I decided to use it as a shadow box for one of my favorite things, a vintage doll. I covered the inside with a very pretty vintage buggy rental ledger paper and then topped it with a German glass glittered star along with dotted glitter tulle to create a curtain like effect. Then I added one of my pretty loose doll heads to this with angel feathers behind her with vintage ribbon and millinery flowers .

I am really happy with the way it turned out , A little paper and glue with creativity is all you need! Sorry about the flash, I think it's time for a new camera! Then it was off to the antique mall today and I came out with some pretty things! Like this darling bust , my friend Karla also found a pretty one not too long ago.
PhotobucketThis is definalty going to be a keeper! So romantic and pretty, I also found several bags of white vintage millinery flowers , theres atleast 100 bundles ,I would love to share these with some one, so leave a comment and I will draw a winner on my next post to send some to!!!And look at this darling old photo of a brother and sister , there's no date or names on the back of the photo . I always wonder how these family heirlooms are lost and who they are ??
PhotobucketThey are cute who ever they are !

Your shadowbox looks amazing! You have bought such lovely things. I also make little stories of the people in photos. I like to think that they are happy to be saved from the flea market and treated with respect!

How lovely. I'll have to hit my local Michael's again. I've not been since the week before Christmas. My middle son & I are reading a scifi series whose titles are taken from the Jabberwocky poem. So I printed out the poem in a nifty font, got a piece of scrapbooking paper to mount it on, then framed it. Would you believe that I hit craft stores & scrapbooking store and couldn't find a paper that resembled a starry night? So, I just used a darker blue, matched the print color to the paper color and gave it to him. He really likes it! I considered bolding the series' titles, but since it is not finshed, I'd have to print it out repeatedly!

Hello Andrea! I love the shadowbox and where did you find that ledger paper? Ledger paper is my favorite:) Those are wonderful antique mall finds too. You would be amazed how many folks don't care to keep the old photos. I can't part with any of mine and they aren't even from my family! LOL!! Love, Jamie
