A little christmas shop

Photobucket
I am having so much fun making christmas decorations! I love christmas , this stocking I made out of a white felt and lots of eye catching pretty things, a very pretty fabric lines the top with a vintage silver trim and crinoline ruffles, vintage crisp white tulle, and I made a pretty broach for the bttom of crinoline ruffles , strips of the same pretty fabric on top and a white with red poka dots, with a wired red pom pom trim and on of my vintage rhinestones. The paper WISH Christmas song is vintage christmas sheet music drizzled with glitter and pinned on, I was going to put this on etsy, but I may just keep it, I love how it turned out, I did make a few more in different styles for the shop.It is also filled with vintage paper shreds, I like the way it looks coming out of the top of the stocking.
And another one ,very glittery and pretty...

we have a winner ~

My favorite vintage taffeta ribbon~ I love to take this and crinkle it up really good because I like it that way,it gives it a more worn and used look, the ribbon is wrapped in layers of paper and is gorgeous being a pale light blue , very pretty with vintage patina..Did I tell you we have a winner????I meant to pick on Monday but I kept it open for a couple extra days , I have been crazy busy! My oldest daughter had her surgery today to remove her tonsils ,adnoids and have tubes put in, so getting ready for that and all the craziness of today, I am finally getting to post! I will be a busy mama for a few days I'm sure!
Anywho ,I picked this up at a shop in town, , a vintage garden style chandelier, but it holds candles and has vintage glass strands of chandelier yumminess and vintage pearl strands , it just has the look and feel that I love! Just a few of my favorite things!!!
My sweet little christmas tree I made with vintage crinoline ruffles ( yes I cut a layer of one I have, it was hard to do but I love the vintage trim!)And you can't even tell the crinoline is still very full! Then I added a glittered star with vintage mercury glass christmas bulbs and a pale antique colored vintage pearls . I think it's cute!

CONGRATULATIONS SANDRA~ I'll need your addy!

The randomly picked number is: 19

I made this tag for my moms birthday , It says "We had an elegant tea and one kind of cake " 1920's text from an old Anne of green gables book, on vintage ledger paper with a girl and her crown and her dog. Also made a little cake out of vintage wallpaper and topped it with some German glass glitter, for the bottom of the tag , I found a really pretty birthday texty tissue paper, I cut out happy birthday and put it on top of the crinkled paper! I think what I love most about this tag is the color palette.

meet my turtle

I love this turtle, I have had it for a few years now, I found it at a yard sale, isn't that funny how you can always remember what sale you bought it at and how much you paid for it ??Even years later ?!I use it for everything , to hold little trims and pieces of things .I like to sew but don't always have the time to sew like I used to .
And here is my newest project ,this vintage barbie tee is heading to altered couture this week ! I also hope to have Audrey Hepburn ones done too very soon! I love the way this turned out , I am not a barbie girl like my friend Jessi is but when I picked this up at a yard sale I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. She was shown with just a shirt on and now she is wearing a vintage lace dress with vintage satin french ribbon with a vintage pearl broach and her hair is also tied with the same french ribbon and a pearly rhinestone piece of jewelry! I also added some vintage tulle that had sparkly gold polka dots on it and it ruffled the dress up just perfectly! Just so cute ! And thats a little bit about what I've been up to! And also working on a few upcomming features I am so excited to soon be able to tell you about.

Birthday Shopping

What do you buy someone who has everything or if they don't have it and you get it for them they don't use it? I need a good present for my Mom and it is so tough every year , trying to decide what to get her . She says she wants the salt & pepper shakers that are in the new issue of Romantic Homes magazine that I thought was a really good one on page 31 bottom left hand corner , They are vintage jadite green and say Salt & Pepper on them and the glass swirls on the bottom, so I thought about maybe getting her those but I know she wouldn't use them , but I guess she wouldn't have to use them ,I have a few I don't use. This happens every year on her birthday ,Christmas ,mother's day. It takes weeks or longer to find something for her. Do you have any suggestions??I would love to know !! Maybe flowers ? Maybe visit an antique shop?

Petite little crowns

I had too much fun making these! These are part of the crown kits I got from my friend Karla . I ruffled velvet along the top edges of each crown . The silvery one has vintage trims , a glittered star with a vintage pearl rhinestone thingy. And the top has a huge vintage rhinestone that I took from my stash . I just love the colors .
I really like the sagey green one too. On both crowns I covered the screen with glue with my fingers then sprinkled silver German glass glitter on them, it was so messy and fun! I put the star on top of this crown and embellished it with some vintage millinery and a vintage pearly rhinestone. Ont he bottom, I added a cream ruffled ribbon and put the velvet ribbon in the middle so just the ruffles would be showing on the sides of the velvet. These are going to make cute little decorations for fall .
This picture is not that good and I still can't figure out how to delete pictures once youhave them uploaded?? Or like I wanted to put a link for Karla and I can't figure that out either! AAHH!

Romantic Storage

I love pretty storage , the perfect way to declutter and make the room pretty too. I have been making a few of these , some for my shop too . Scince winter is almost here ,I like to declutter with these vintage wallpaper covered boxes in pale pinks ,blues and creamy celedon greens with vintage cream colors. Then I attach a pretty tag to note what is in the box to the top or side so I can easily tell whats inside each box .

I also have all the vintage wallpaper cottages listed in the shop too ! I have been a busy little creator making little things using my favorite elements! Now I am off to make some crowns from the kits I bought from my friend Karla, I can't wait to get started, the crowns are already to be embellished with vintage rhinestones , glitter, vintage trims and millinery .

The Fairy

This is probably the last nice day here and lily was out on her Radio Flyer . These little bikes just make you want to be a kid again. And when it's not being used,I use it for a prop in the yard and maybe put a plant on it ,
And The fairy~ Couldn't resist a trip to the nursery today and this is what I brought home . A pretty pink petite teacup rose and it is actually called The Fairy! How cute! This one is a climber /bush , I am trying to go for more of the ground covers and the bushy roses .My Mom has this same rose so It also makes me think of her and all the days I spent watering and caring for her garden when I lived at home .

And it was on sale ,NOW is the time to buy roses ,especially to have for next year ! If you can shop the after Christmas sales and store all the Christmas things till next year when you can use them, you can certainly get some roses at a fraction of the price to have for next year !
And you 'll be glad you did! I only bought one, because I know the price will go down even more by the end of October and then I'll go get more ~! I think you probably already know how much I love roses . They can be incorporated into our lives everyday for inspiration! Here are a few I didn't bring home, but will be back for ! I am hoping to weed my front flower beds today , but sometimes I just can't get out and do it :) I just like to feather my nest on the inside and the outside too!
