Antique shopping

This is a gem! A darling scarf box in pale pink with pretty bouquets of flowers ! This is defiantly a keeper!!!! A darling velvet vintage hat with mesh netting! So darn pretty~ I love the softness of this and that it is all velvet , the berries, the leaves and even wraps around the whole thing! Love it!
This sweet little vintage doll with a beautiful vintage tulle and ribbon dress with a bouquet of millinery flowers (old ones) for 2.80!! That's right , she was 3.50 but it was 20% off , the only flaw is her head is broke BUT it stays on and the dress and flowers were enough for me to buy her! Those little details I look for and love!!!!!

Over the weekend I found a new antique store ! I found a few little goodies and theres a lot more I want and I'll have to go back for ! Also after our trip to the antique store we stopped at the library! And they have the best rose field behind them !And without fail hubby always picks me a bunch! And they have blue hydrangeas too! Thanks library!Also have I ever told you how much I LOVE vintage ribbons like these!!!!! !! There gorgeous! taffeta from switzerland! oh my!I hope you had a great weekend!!

I love aprons!

I just love aprons! They make me feel like a million bucks! If you ever have watched little house on the prairie(MY ALL TIME FAVE SHOW!!!!!) aprons were a must have and all the girls and ladies wore them~ Except for Sundays of course! Beth had left a comment on a previous post when I ordered this that I should wear it out and start a trend! OK so i did today! Except i folded it under to make it a half apron~ And a little town over from me is having a street fair and we took the kiddos and YES I wore the apron!!! I must say I was the only one but that's OK i love my apron and I will start a trend! HE!HE!I am just a good Ole fashioned gal ! I love aqua! The more I have it the more I want .It's just so darn pretty~ I made this ornament for CSST Christmas in July~ I have a huge collection of vintage ornaments and using my secret way, i strip the paint off to reveal mercury glass~ I love mercury glass! So decorative and PRETTY! I added a German glass glitter star and a strand of chandelier pieces~ Decorated with those ribbons we all love this is quite lovely! You can find it in my shop!

CSST christmas in july friday~ I am very busy in the studio! I dragged all my christmas stuff out and I have ALOT! and once christmas does come I can wait to show you one of my trees..i do one for the kids and one for me THAT i KEEP AWAY FROM THE KIDS IN MY ROOM !! Anthropologie and Vintage wishes ~

Want to buy my magazine?? It's a real pretty one~ This was really fun, I found the link on cielo's blog~ I am however in the works to publish a REAL book.. Looking for artist to join in the fun~

I love this apron~ It's anthropologie's 3-D toile apron~ I just bought it today and I can't wait for it to come! I love wearing aprons around the house~ They have so many cute clothes too but~ a little pricey for this bargain shopper~!I love the beach robins egg blue on this one and that is why I picked it~ There are so many pretty ones and even ones for little girls! You can see the all on there website and a bigger picture of this one! I know i should have just made my own but sometimes It's nice to treat yourself! Too bad it doesn't come with the dressform too~:)

This is one of my favorites~ A piece of vintage wallpaper and says The past~ Ya know that's where vintage things come from! I love making these charms ..I just can't solder them..I have tried my heart out!
This one says I love vintage because I do ! On vintage wallpaper with German glass glitter! So pretty!Vintage of course! and glitter in a charm~I have been super really busy making product for the new shop! ! Rachel ashwell's most coveted fabric rose blossom in a charm~
A lovely double ruffle made from Rachel ashwell's rose trellis TM fabric ..so pretty and perfect trim for paper projects Seam binding ruffles looped and would be cute for paper things or to sew with~!This is my favorite , a two toned vintage ribbon ruffled up for your next paper project.. Limited quantities on the vintage ribbons! But i am going shopping next week at antique shops for more ribbons and trims!A deep turquoise satin ruffle ribbon trim~ Love it!

I will be doing pretty trims with vintage ribbons and pretty fabrics..Just lovely things to inspire and add to products! I love to create using vintage notions, trims and tidbits from the past~

hello and welcome to my cottage home .....this must be my longest post ever but i think you'll enjoy it!!!
By the way.. I am so loving these sweet dolls !The shabby dresses and colors.... Here is my home sweet home..built in 1902 .All the windows are original and sweet! I baby them so they never get broken!Look at the wanes coating( i think that's what it's called) chippy paint ,love the celdon green color of the house! With my little sign that says Fresh Roses......or you can come in the back door....I just love this awning over the back porch, so vintage and pretty ..all the little details ..That's what I love !OK now lets go back to the front door ......OK here we are ....you would have entered in to the right..and here it is!A huge black TV:) still waiting for the perfect armour to hide the thing! Sits on a very old dresser ..my chair to the right from the laundrette (remember!)he!he! and to the right a chair I covered in Rachel ashwell's TM vintage rose fabric... and my little white coffee table with pretties on it.....By the way see the mercury glass in the middle.. finally came from shabby chic ..It is pretty ..but it wasn't wrapped pretty , so I was a little disappointed about that considering Rachel is all about the details too... any who....My comfy sofa covered in white with a crocheted coverlet..notice the blue fluffy wreath up on the mantle.. that is from the shabby chic rachel ashwell store..came from her Chicago one...I love feather wreaths.. As maybe you can tell already..I LOVE white ...love it!ok and I am a pretty simple girl..I like it simply and elegant...I just can't handle too much clutter because then I can't think too well....lol :)Then behind all that is this my sweet little table..usually it's in the middle of the adjacent room to the living room.... But I moved it up against the wall and it will probably get moved again ...(have I told you I rearrange ALL the time....!!!!!Don't know why but I do)Then to the right my kitchen I won't scare ya with the fridge and the ugly stove..lol..How about some hello kitty toast for breakfast and coffee of course..I only drink starbucks though...anything else and I am on the toilet for sure !I love this my window outside my little bedroom..look at the chippy paint!

My Bella rose duvet and my vintage dresser with a few of my favorite things on it ..one of those a little love note from me sweet daughter, a heart trimmed in glitter and says I love you .. i can't keep her away from the craft stuff! And vintage flowers pinned on to the brim of the lampshade..
My small stack of magazines, vintage linens...some extra dishes..my baby doll and daughters American girl doll that was a score at a church sale for 3.00!!!
I love these dolls ... my new fetish!
And here is baby's crib ~ A complete Laura Ashley bedding set with a Rachel ashwell floral castle pillow..talk about a pampered princess!
And my other daughters daybed..rachel ashwell blush beauty duvet , curtain and lots of her pillows too !

Bella rose

Ok, I finally got some projects done today!!!! woo hoo! Now it's computer time ! Here is my newest addition to my cottage shop at etsy..Her name is bella rose ..She is a vintage dress form covered in vintage sheet music with a gorgeous patina and shade of paper..I gave her a vintage crochet neck piece with one of my vintage rhinestone broches that is so pretty and sparkly! I also added one of my handmade satin roses that I make and a white vintage velvet rose with vintage trim and a pretty pink satin tie around her waist! She is absolutely darling! I do hate to part with her but I have a tiny cottage home..Will show my sweets later!I plan to show you all my sweet 1902 cottage very soon! Just painted a fresh coat of white in the living room today and will continue on with the rest of the inside next weekend! And I also finished up my charms for a swap .. I hope everyone likes them~ This is my first one.. so I am a little nervous!

Vintage tidbits

I started this book by covering it with a sweet piece of vintage fabric ,I got at an antique store over at the ocean last year ~ So pretty~ then also used some french vintage linen pillowcases with a great crocheted edge..for part of the book.. cutting the pillowcase was easy because it was yellowed on parts of it and I just couldn't get that out ..I just loved the trim on it.. Other pages are covered in an 1866 ledger paper with dates on it ..the most beautiful writing and patina ever! (NOTE TO SELF:Get more of that! )Then there's lots of velvet ribbons and vintage buttons..I made a little pocket on the front using part of the french linen and added some of the ledger paper which is all buggy rentals from st Paul....It's darling ~ Some pages I will probably redo.. I need everything to flow throughout the album with the same colors and style... There are a few I redid already.. Like the umbrella abovefroma vintage baby card..might have to take that off.. I want this to be filled with only vintage finds that I cherish ..and then have it be a small journal or love note keeper or little memories of my baby...

I am wondering if I should remove the paris??? This paris tag I got from my sis .. does not really go but it's pretty!! The other page..ledger paper and vintage tattered ribbon...velvet , ricrac, and vintage pom poms~ Vintage wallpaper scrap and martha stewart paper with more ledger..
I love this one with the vintage lace and my name on the tag..This is the back inside of the book... more crocheted trim... I love the creams, aquas , pale pinks ..sweet ~ This book has become quite thick!

It is quite the drive to go...I always look on ebay for the tm items , the things not from target, not that those are bad and I have lots of simply shabby chic items..Of couse maybe you know or I should tell you Rachel Ashwell is how I got started into my own shabbychic world~ Well now FINALLY you can order from her website online and thats what I did , I ordered this a mercury glass style candle holder..so pretty I also have two pink ones from her store via ebay... Also maybe I am silly but look at this rug! Below...

I love the simple style and classic elegance ..I have own and have watched all of Rachel Ashwell's dvds and they are so inspiring...The bella rose is one of my favoite prints of hers..It is just so darn pretty!I am very much a white and pink girl, white being my first choice of color for my home..There is just something about all white that is so soothing~ But this bella rose has the prettiest blue and gorgeous bouquets with hints of celdon green..Part of my own palette..Love it~ This is the duvet I have and also have my curtains in this along with white ones from her simply shabby chic collection! Oh I have all her books , almost every print in my collection of fabrics.. she has very much inspired my life~ No I am not a fanatic although my husband might think so , but even he loves our home ...every room is mine to decorate ..he is such a trooper ..if he had it his way I would be living in a football world..seahawks blue and green??I love football but i don't think so ! :)

My baby doll

My heart melted when I seen her at the thrift ~ A perfect baby in great condition and would you believe she was only 5.00??!! Oh my gosh she was in a display case on the very bottom, I thought I's take a second look and I was glad I did becasue I found on the very bottom ..Isn't she sweet! I love dolls and am working on parting with some of my collection after I gussy them up , I'll list them in my new etsy shop! Her name is Bella ..

Do you like etsy???I know I like shopping on there, but wonder if I can actually sell anything? What do you think of etsy??? There fees are sure cheap! A few tags I made yesterday .....

LOOK what I was blessed with ! This chair has quite a story..I was over at the laundrette(laundrymat) washing my rugs and there it was, this beautiful chair..I could not believe it, I thought no one cared about it and I could give it a cottage home..So I called the city to find out who owned the laundrette and after a week I finally got a hold of the owner and I asked "could I have that chair?" and he said YES! I got it for free! Can you believe it! I told hubby I am going to have that chair, it was brown and I painted it white of course , it is really sturdy and just so prettttyy! I rushed right over to get it as soon as I had got off the phone with the owner of the laundrette! I still can't believe it!!!
